THE FOLLY ANNOUNCES
Already enjoying a triumphant return to the Irish music scene as a solo artist and with a highly anticipated album ‘Courageous’ (out now), Róisín O is excited to be performing at THE FOLLY FESTIVAL 2022. With tracks such as ‘Heart + Bones’, ‘Still Gold’ and top 20 hit ‘2023’ and current single, a co-write with Gavin James, ’Stolen’ still climbing the charts.
Róisín O has shared the stage with a host of internationally renowned artists, including Lionel Richie, Bryan Ferry, Brad Paisley, Hozier and Colin Hay as well as headlining her own tours in Ireland, Germany, The US and Australia. In 2016 Róisín performed at JJ Abram’s Oscar Wilde Awards in LA where she shared the bill with Snow Patrol to play for Stephen Spielberg, James Corden, and many more.
Róisín’s newly released album and recent tour builds on a hugely successful musical career to date. Following her debut album The Secret Life of Blue in 2012, a project of passion with the band Thanks Brother began for Róisín in 2018, garnering a massive fan base and resulting in a critically acclaimed EP release in 2019 which included the singles; ‘We Are Different’, ‘We Caught It’ and ‘F*ck My Life’, along with shows at 3Arena, Electric Picnic and more.
2022 is the biggest year to date for Róisín with a number 1 Irish album, multiple hot singles and her renowned stage presence and electric energy, Róisín O is not to be missed.
It was the 2020 lockdown that brought Róisín back to her roots though, as she used the timeout from the constant touring and recording to reset. After receiving a hugely positive response to her cover of Selena Gomez’ ‘Lose You to Love me’ in June, which amassed over a million streams on Spotify, as well as her involvement in the No. 1 single ‘Dreams’ with Irish Women in Harmony, Róisín’s resolve to return to her solo career was cemented.
Róisín also recently performed a hair-raising rendition of Irish ballad ‘Grace’ with fellow musician and singer Aoife Scott ahead of Michael Conlon’s victorious WBA interim featherweight world title fight in Belfast. It was the first time in 18 long months that the performers had entertained such a massive audience. Over 7,000 fans gave a thunderous reaction as the singers took to the stage, raising their phones high and singing along in harmony.
We cannot wait to welcome Róisín to The Folly Festival on July 8th & 9th!!
