The Folly Festival 2019 - The Lineup

Friday 19th July

The Folly Festival will kick off at 8pm on Friday 19th when our acts will take to the stage. Gates will open at 7pm as will the bar.

We don’t have the line up finalised yet…. But we will very soon!

So far we have confirmed, The Finns and Alice Lynskey, and hope to update very soon with more of this year’s act!

Saturday 20th July

We are still finalising our acts for Saturday 20th July, and will update here!

But prior to that we have so much going on at The Folly Festival, and below is a list of what we have already planned!

Daytime Events

We are still working on our full programme of events but here are some of the ones we already have planned!

Guided Walk up Cullohill Mountain

The day’s event will kick off early with a guided walk up Cullohill Mountain at 9am. Breakfast will be served on the way back down courtesy of Paddy O’ Cereals. This event was hugely popular last year and a great way to start the day!  Registration from 8.30am. €5 per person or free to those with a weekend ticket.

Family Fun @ Nancy’s Yard

Once again this year, the courtyard of Cullohill Castle will become the venue for a super afternoon of fun and games for children. Nancy’s Yard was a huge hit and we will have last year’s favourites back as well as some new events.  With Face Painting, Bouncing Castles, Ride On Toy Tractor circuit, Nail Art, Arts & Crafts, Nerf Shooting Gallery, there is something for everyone. This year we will have the super funny magician, Brian Daly performing and he will have the adults laughing as much as the kids!! A show not be missed! Entry into Nancy’s Yard is €5 per child and includes the cost of all activities. Adults are free of charge.

Dog Show

A hugely successful and fun event last year, precious pooches will once again strut their stuff in the hope of winning a prize.  A nominal entry fee will apply.

Art Exhibition

There will be an Art Exhibition of paintings from local artists.

‘Use your Loaf’ with Caitriona Bolger

Get your hands dusty, floury & messy as you re-create bread just as the residents of Cullohill Castle did more than 500 years ago! Learn what they meant by no waste and spend some time actually making flour yourself. Then you’ll make a bread similar to what they had every day – and you can compare it to your favourite bread today! This children’s event will require pre-booking. More information to follow.

‘The Great Folly Bake’

New to this year’s event will be a competition which will see the best home bakers and jam makers bring their finest creations to compete against each other across various categories including brown bread, apple tart, Victoria Sponge and Jam.

The Fairgreen area in between Cullohill village and the Castle provides the most idyllic location for the Market. This year’s participants have yet to be confirmed but last year’s participants included..
