The Folly Festival - Saturday 20th July

Daytime Events

A fun filled day of family friendly activities and events, taking place at the Folly Festival, on Saturday July 20th.

Everyone is welcome to attend, and you do not need a ticket for our evening concerts, so please do come along. We will have comedian and TV star Bernard O’Shea in attendance, along with Munster and Ireland rugby legend Alan Quinlan!

Guided Walk up Cullohill Mountain

The day’s events will kick off early with a guided walk up Cullohill Mountain at 9am. Breakfast will be served on the way back down courtesy of Paddy O’Cereals. This event was hugely popular last year and a great way to start the day!  Registration from 8.30am. €5 per person or free to those with a weekend ticket.

Family Fun @ Nancy’s Yard

The garden of Cullohill Castle will become the venue for a super afternoon of fun, From 12 – 4pm. We have Brian Daly Comedian & Magician, Jeca the Clown, face painting, bouncing castles, nail art, human table football and much more. Entry into Nancy’s Yard is €5 per child and includes the cost of all activities. Adults are free of charge.

Dog Show

A hugely successful and fun event last year, precious pooches will once again strut their stuff in the hope of winning a prize. €3 Entry per pooch Per Category.

Art Exhibition

There will be an Art Exhibition of paintings from local artists.

‘The Great Folly Bake’

New to this year’s event will be a competition which will see the best home bakers bring their finest creations to compete against each other across various categories including brown bread, traditional plate tart, sponge cake and  decorated cupcakes. There is also a category for primary school kids – biscuit / cookie making.

‘The Folly Adventure Race’

A 6.5 km trail run followed by a 24km cycle, this event for the more energetic of us, will showcase the fantastic scenery in the area. Entry is €25 and includes a t-shirt & goodie bag. Register online here.

Artisan Food & Craft Market

The market will take place on Saturday 20th July, from 11am – 4pm and will showcase the best of locally produced food and drink.

Daytime Events also includes a Vintage Car Display , Human Table Football Competition, Feast of Irish Beef & Special Guests Bernard O’Shea and Alan Quinlan.
