New To This Year's Folly
The Great Folly Bake is a new addition to this year’s festival and challenges all the wonderful home bakers to compete in what will no doubt be a mouth-watering competition.
The categories for the competition are as follows:
Old Fashioned Plate Tart – shortcrust pastry, fruit based
Un-decorated Filled Sponge Cake
Irish Style Brown Bread – Split Tin or Open Bake
Decorated Cup Cakes (6)
Junior (Primary School Children)
Biscuits / Cookies (6)
Entry Fee – Senior Competition €5 Junior €2
Competition Schedule – Sat 20th July
Entries need to be dropped off at the ‘Bake Off’ Tent at 12pm
Judging will take place in private from 12.30 – 1.30pm
Entries can be viewed from 2.30 – 3pm
There will be a cookery demonstration at 3.30pm
Winners will be announced at 4pm.
Prizes will be awarded in each of the 5 categories.
Judges will include Anna May McHugh, of the National Ploughing Championship.
